Have you ever stopped to wonder, what is the most important thing in life?
This is a big question and must be given much thought.
What is the most important thing to you in life?
How will you feel if you looked back and realized that you spent all your energy on things that were not important and don’t matter at all?
This is one question we don’t have to wait for birthdays or new years to answer. I think about it every other day.
In life, it’s very easy to get distracted, or side tracked into pursuing other things. A lot of these distractions are legitimate and even your well meaning friends will recommend them.
But always ask yourself this question; will it be pleasing to God?
There are a lot of things other people can do but you shouldn’t, because it’s not important to you.
For me, I don’t want to look back and realize that I spent my energy pursing things that are not important and will not count when I leave this earth.
Life is short and we have only one to live. Everyday is a gift to be used for God’s glory. My prayer is that we will always stop to count what really counts and our eyes will always be fixed on the goal of pleasing Christ.
Let me share a brief story, in the past one year, my life has changed in ways I cannot explain. Truth is, I didn’t wake up one day and plot the trajectory of my life.
Looking back, I know that where I am now, I never imagined I’ll be here one year ago. God took me by the hand and led me into the center of his will for my life.
Now I look back with so much gratitude to God and trust that my mind has not conceived what’s in the next one year of my life, how much more the years to follow.
Today, I am telling you to believe God and stop worrying about your life. Many times, it’s the pressures of life that prevent us from focusing on the most important things.
God knows how to plan your life and give you things you never knew you needed. Focus all your energy on finding out what pleases the Lord and learn to practice it.
Once again I ask you, what is the most important thing in your life?
Asking yourself that question alone is the first step and that in itself is pleasing to the Lord.
Don’t answer “God!” mindlessly and then live in a way that says the exact opposite.
One day you will be gone from this earth either by death or rapture, and then nothing else but one thing will matter:
Did you live your life in a manner pleasing to the Lord?
That is the most important thing in life.
God bless you!
