One of the Scriptures I love so much is Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you says the Lord and guide you along the best pathway for your life, I will advise you and watch you progress.” (TLB)

This passage  has stuck real hard ever since I first saw it, it came to mind again as we stepped into another month reminding me that there is a ‘best’ pathway for my life…wow!

Life is a journey, you are travelling everyday whether you realize it or not. It is either you let God lead the way or you propel yourself through life (Oh, how tiring that must be!) and end up going through pathways that may be good but are not the best.

You know, sometimes in the journey of life everyone seems to be moving so fast but you. People are doing many things and it’s like you are not doing much. For me, those times I am tempted to drive God out of the drivers seat, put the car in gear five, fire full throttle and just keep accelerating in any available direction, after all the world is moving really fast. Hehehe.

In this month of April, I want you to know that God wants to lead you through life. There may be so many pathways before you, but he promised to lead you along the best pathway for your life.

I am very sure that is exactly what you want.

Even if you are feeling bleak and clueless, so many roads are before you and you just realized you can only take one at a time. God is still saying “I will lead you along the best pathway for your life” not the good or better ones, not the familiar or usual one, but the best. He, the Lord will lead you and guide you with his eyes.

Here are four things you can do when you have many roads before you and you are longing to let God lead you in the best pathway:

Pray and let God’s word screen your heart; before taking any decision, keep the matter before God’s presence and His word. They screen out selfish motives and mistakes. The Holy Spirit will make it clearer to you as you pray about it. In his word, everything takes their actual size and shape, that’s the only way you can get the right perspective. By praying in His presence, your wrong motives and flesh melts away and his will becomes your desires.

Seek counsel from godly men/women; that way, you receive more wisdom and guidance and not act presumptuously or foolishly. The book of Proverbs is laced with a lot of scriptures pointing to the importance of godly counsel. God has placed men and women who have travelled this path you are in and blessed them with wisdom you will need for your journey. Feel free to glean endlessly, rather than repeat their mistakes because you refused to learn from them.

Do the right thing, always; This truth has helped me. Sometimes, God will not whisper into your ears telling you what exactly to do, but you can be sure that he will make the right thing plain and clear, go ahead and do it. It may not be popular but when you are done, you will look back and thank God you did the right thing.

Take your hands off the wheel; I hear people say they trust God, yet they skim their way through life. I don’t believe in skimming. If you have prayed, obeyed God’s word, received wise counsel and done the right thing, then it is time to step out of the way and watch God work.

Fear not! Be strong and follow him courageously. Whether He brings you to the green pastures or leads you through the valley of the shadow of death, you can be sure it is the best path!

Remember, God does not just know the way, he made the way and he knows the best path. So you can confidently close your eyes, throw your hands into the air and let Him lead you along the best pathway for your life. He surely will!

Cheer up and do have a beautiful month.

Much Love.
