Have you ever heard someone say they were searching for greener pastures?
I have not only heard but considered it a lot of times. But thank God that early in life I learnt an important truth that has stuck over the years:
He makes me lie down in green pastures. Psalm 23:2
God knows where the green pastures are and knows how to lead me there!
Many times in life, we leave a job, marriage or geographical location in search of “greener pastures.” It may be a fatter pay cheque, a more prestigious job or a bigger city, more connections, power and of course more happiness.
But do you know that the grass always looks greener on the other side? So what really is a green pasture?
King David discovered that it’s simply that which you have received freely from God. It’s the place God takes you to by himself. You can’t get there by skimming, lieing or cheating.
Before you go in search of green pastures, you must recognize that only God knows truly where the green pastures are. You may think that a bigger job, house or car depicts a green pasture but don’t forget that cars can be destroyed by fire or accident at the snap of a finger, houses burn down, men get fired from six-digit jobs at the slightest mistake and companies crumble everyday; so you see how foolish it is to build ones hope on the fleeting pleasures of life.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting or desiring something better than what we have but when we let them drive and own us, we begin to skim our way to get them and end up piercing our souls with so many heartaches
Truly, green pastures are found in the center of God’s will; loving him, living for him and being a blessing to others around you. God in his infinite wisdom and generousity knows how to make all grace abound towards you so that you will not just have for yourself but so much more to give to others.
Dearest friend, do not pursue the things of life the way the world does. It is folly to make important life decisions based on what men call “greener pastures.”
God does not only keep green pasture for his own, he leads us there and makes us lie down and be established in them.
He will make YOU to lie down in green pastures and find rest for your soul. Amen
Have a beautiful week!

Amen! So on point Sir. Thanks for always being here.
